Word Work Construction allows your students to build words and explore phonetic patterns in a simple, hands-on way using plastic linking cubes. Students can build sight words, spelling words, and phonetic patterns independently or materials can be shared among a group of 2-4 students, making these activities perfect for literacy centers. After one set of materials is created, you can reuse Word Work Instruction ALL YEAR LONG with different word patterns! Simply switch out the skill templates and your good to go!
Students use the task card templates to place the cubes on the templates. Then, they build the remaining letters in the word by adding cubes OR writing the missing letters on blank cubes with a dry erase marker. After building words, students write them on the corresponding template.
