Product Description

Short on time for whole class STEM? Try incorporating it into an engaging, hands-on center!

The following STEM Center materials can be applied within any elementary classroom. You may choose to have students work in the STEM Center independently, with partners, or in small groups. You simply need to provide the construction materials of your choice as well as STEM challenge instructions and time limit. You might also choose to keep a camera or iPad in this center so that students can take photos of their finished creations.

Includes the following materials that are compatible with ANY STEM Challenge:
Page 2: STEM Center Sign
Page 3: STEM Center Expectations
Page 4: STEM Center Instructions (Can be laminated and written on with vis-à-vis markers, then erased for each challenge)
Page 5: STEM Challenge Ideas and Construction Materials
Page 6-7: STEM Center Booklet (copy front to back and fold in half)
Pages 8-13: STEM Writing Extensions Flipbooks and Templates (3 options)

My sweet Kinder groups are diving into Mitten Measurement this week! 🧤🧤🧤They’ll design their own mittens and use nonstandard measurement to find the length, width, and capacity. They’ll also measure larger classroom objects with their mittens!

Did you know that this Storybook STEM unit is FREE in my shop?! 😱🎉

“Teacher guilt is a real and vicious thing, right up there with mom guilt and dad guilt.

It stems from that aching feeling of not doing enough and being enough for our children, constantly caught in a tug-of-war between what is expected of us and having any shred of a personal life.”

Some advice from the heart on the blog:
