These challenges are designed specifically for second grade students and align with crosscutting NGSS science, math, and engineering standards!

Six challenges are provided, two for each of the major science content areas: Structure and Properties of Matter, Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems, and Earth’s Systems: Processes that Shape the Earth

Each challenge in this package contains the following items:

• Challenge Description, Aligned NGSS Standards, Suggested Materials, and Detailed Lesson Plans
• Photos of possible student products
• Teacher Chart to guide whole class discussion for use on a document camera or interactive whiteboard
• Student booklet to record prior knowledge, questions, materials, blueprints, and reflections
